De-risking transformation
A case study in improving group-wide workforce transformation
Introduction:
This case study shows our support for the client’s workforce transformation across all operations and outlets.
Engaged to lead the sourcing and contracting of the underlying technology system. The result was not only to deliver a significant discount but also to help the client to set a more robust foundation for an accelerated transformation across the business.
The Client's Challenge
The client wanted to move from multiple ways of coordinating schedules and managing its workforce management to a single system across its operations and outlets.
What was particularly attractive was the emergence of solutions with mobile apps that would offer staff a simpler and more engaging way to coordinate shifts and work. That combined with enterprise-grade integration across the business would significantly improve efficiencies in customer service.
The challenge was that while they had specialist workforce management consultants engaged to advise them, they lacked the commercial capacity needed to bridge business and IT requirements in a way that allowed them to manage a robust sourcing process.
Our Approach
Asked to lead the sourcing and contracting of the underlying technology system. We worked with their teams and advisors to deliver final recommendations and negotiated contracts within 4 months.
Our key activities included:
Cross-functional stakeholder management and requirements validation
Business case development and improvement
Designing and facilitating decision criteria and process
RFP, contract and diligence preparation and management
Facilitating contract negotiations to closure
Supporting governance consideration, recommendation and board decision
Handing over on signature
The Result
Significant discounts were delivered along with more robust and de-risked implementation and business transformation plans.
